About This Role
We are looking for an experienced Deck Carpenter to lead deck construction projects. You will build and repair residential decks from start to finish, working with both wood and composite materials. The ideal candidate has strong carpentry skills, can read blueprints, and takes pride in quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Build complete deck structures: framing, decking, railings, and stairs
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
- Accurately measure, cut, and install deck materials
- Ensure all work meets Ontario Building Code requirements
- Repair and restore existing deck structures
- Communicate with clients about project requirements and progress
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
- Train and guide assistant carpenters on proper techniques
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of deck construction or carpentry experience (required)
- Valid G driver’s license (required)
- Proficient with power tools and hand tools
- Ability to read construction plans and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Experience with wood and composite decking materials
- Physically fit for construction work
- Own reliable transportation
